Lush Loves!! - Review

Happy Sunday!

As obsessed as I am with fashion, I also have a weakness for beauty and body products....especially ones that smell yummy! Therefore, I've decided to share my thoughts on certain products that I love and maybe even some that I don't love so much.

For this review, I will share my thoughts on my very first experience in the ever so loved LUSH Cosmetics store and my opinion on their products as a lush virgin!
For those who are not familiar with LUSH Cosmetics, they are a company that specializes in "Fresh Handmade Cosmetics". LUSH products are loved by the majority (if not all) of the beauty community, and I am saying that with confidence as I have not seen a bad review on these products. Many beauty bloggers and Youtube beauty guru's rave about Lush Cosmetics as they are unique in the type of products they sell. As much as I love Bath and Body Works or The Body Shop, they cannot compete with LUSH Cosmetics. Who can beat fresh handmade products!...not to mention they are also major anti-animal cruelty supporters. #Perfection

About a month ago, I entered one of their stores in Nova Scotia, Canada as a LUSH virgin. Having heard a lot of wonderful things from my favorite Youtube guru's, I entered the store with high hopes and a list of products I knew I wanted to try. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. The first thing I noticed was that the staff were awesome and so passionate about the products/company. The first girl I spoke to immediately had me smelling delish combinations of their newest products. Who knew if you mix an orange bath bomb with a vanilla bubble bar you get a yummy creamsicle bubble bath!! Once I picked up all of the products I wanted to try, the girl at the cash told me all about their role in fighting to stop animal cruelty in all cosmetic companies and gave me the newest volume of their newsletter LUSH Times. Forget about receiving two hundred annoying emails per week telling you about promotions....No, LUSH gives you their own little newsletter personally. Need I say more?

As for my haul.... I purchased a few goodies to get myself started.
After drooling over every single scent of their bath bombs, I picked up two.
                                       Sakura                                                          Twilight
                   Sakura                     Twilight
Sakura is a lovely bath bomb for days when you just want to relax and soak...and smell nice of course. One thing I loved about this one is that it did not turn the color of my bath. Now don't get me wrong, I looovvee sitting it a pretty rainbow bath sometimes but on days when you want something simple this one is perfect. It is also good for combining with other bath products because it won't affect the color of the other product. The smell is amazing, just like you are soaking in a bath of cherry blossoms. Mmmmmm. This bath bomb made my bath very milky and my skin super soft!! If you're running low on time, hop in the bath with one of these bath bombs and skip your moisturizer!
I have been saving Twilight for a special night of pampering, but one thing I can say for sure....It smells amazing! LUSH describes the scent to be a mixture of Lavender and Tonka which soothes the skin and helps treat insomnia. I will definitely reach for this one for a pampering session after a stressful day.

I also picked up the Brightside Bubble Bar. First of all, it looks good enough to eat. If creamsicle was a fruit of it's own, this is what it would look (and smell) like. My fave thing about the bubble bars is that you can get a couple uses out of them. I got four baths out of mine because I cracked it into four pieces which was just enough to make my bath bubbly and fruity. If you're one who loves lot's and lot's of bubbles, half of this bubble bar will do you good! One thing that worried me about this product is that with it's color, would it turn my ombre hair orange? As I usually wash my hair in the bathtub, I wanted a product that I could use at the same time I wash my hair. But no worries! The color didn't affect my hair at all. If anything it made my hair even softer, not to mention the citrus smell was subtle on my skin for the rest of the day. Good Job LUSH!!

Brightside

The last thing I picked up was a product that one of my fave Youtube Beauty Guru's Tanya Burr had raved about in many of her favorites videos recently. It is the King of Skin Body Butter Bar. This product amazed me as soon as I tried it. It just melts into your skin as you rub it on and it smells like delicious buttery oatmeal as it is made with freshly mashed bananas and avacado, and mixed with oatmeal milk and lavender. If that doesn't sound delicious to you than I don't know what would. Yummm. One thing to remember about this product is that it is highly moisturizing meaning it will last a little longer on the surface of your skin. Therefore my advice to you when using this product, is to apply when your skin is warm just as you've hopped out of the bath and let it soothe your skin as you sleep. There's no better feeling.

King of Skin

Well there you have it....My first experience with LUSH Cosmetics and a little review of each product I have tried so far. Unfortunately I do not live nearby to a LUSH store and therefore my next review of their products will have to be when I make my next online order...but after trying these products, I can assure you my next order will be bulk.. hehe.

Mother's Day

I hope everyone enjoyed their Mother's Day!
I spent my day with my lovely mother and grandmother, along with the rest of my family.
I started my day by attending church with my mother and grandmother to watch the Mother's Day Program performed by all the local kiddies. So cute!
After church we had a traditional Newfoundland Sunday Dinner with turkey and veggies. Mmmm!
I spent the rest of my day relaxing at home with Momma on the couch watching movies. No better way to end the day. My day was not too eventful but at least I got to wear my new skirt that I've been dying to wear! How does it look?

A Peek Inside My Bag

I've recently purchased a new bag as a substitute until I can save enough money to splurge on a designer one. I really wanted a crossbody style for a casual and effortless look, but I still wanted a classy looking bag. After drooling over the DKNY Dome Satchel shoulder bag in Blue Saffiano Leather, I decided to wait a little longer for the price to drop to buy it. However I still wanted a similar structured style, one that would keep it's shape without me having to worry about it sagging over time. I came across the bag shown below in the same store as the DKNY, and it immediately reminded me of the Celine Luggage bags that everybody is raving over lately. They have a similar shape with the sides folded outward except my bag has a flap and closure. I love this little bag because even though it isn't a recognized designer, its style is in right now not to mention that it was only $40!!!

This bag is by Miztique and unfortunately there was no information that came with it regarding the style name.

Here's a little peek into what I currently have inside my bag!
